'What do you want to be when your older'

Hey bitches

Hope everyone is well today! It's bloody snowing here again today! Whoopie!

Anyway, today i was asked this question which all of us have been asked at least once in our life and ive never really thought about how weird the question is... I mean, we usually get asked when we are like 12 or around then, and i knew back then i wanted to be a vet and i was determined to be a vet. Unfortunately, things changed and now i dont want to be a vet but want to be a Software Developer. Now this was  a change over 6 years and my career path changed completely.

My example just shows that even over as little time as 6 years, you can change your mind completely about a huge part of your future and i think it's completely pointless asking children about what they want to be when they are older... Sorry if i seem cynical, but that's my opinion!

So what about you guys, when you were younger, what did you want to be when you were older? And what are you now? What would you like to be now?

  2. So much can change in 6 years. For example, Kristjan has just convinced me of yet another career move and to start training to be a dinosaur.

  5. I wanted to be a paleontologist when I was a kid but was turned off of it by all the math I heard you had to learn. Then various other dreams as well, but those are just the regulars.

  6. What I want to be when I'm older? Simple, really. Happy. Yep, that's it. I just want to be happy. Enjoy everything I'm doing, and have the best time of my life.

  8. I have an old school yearbook from when I was 6 (~20 years ago) that said I wanted to be "A petrol seller" - That's vehicle gas here in Australia :P Know what I grew up to be? An environmental officer that tries to get people to drive more sensibly lol "Eco-Driving" as it is known. And I'm into bike riding and renewable energy :D

  13. Well, uh, I always wanted to be a rock star. Just didn't have the patience or sticktoitivness to practice like a pro, and now here I am, 50 and not a rock star. Too much procrastination, beer, and laziness, and not enough self-confidence...
